Coming up at BBE
Coming up this month, some BBE Store parties worth putting in the diary…
A highly respected artist for many years now, Kiko Navarro is a name synonymous with the Balearic House sound, thanks to his residencies at Space & Pacha as well as his countless productions and remixes.
BBE are proud to present Kiko Navarro‘s recent solo album ‘Everything Happens For A Reason’, released in late 2016.
The single ‘All Because Of You’, has been described as “a future classic” (CJ Mackintosh) and “absolutely necessary” (Soul Clap), and both the album and single are available for purchase on the BBE Music website and in-store now:
Following up last year’s genre-bending EP ‘Red Light Syndrome’ which garnered support from Ashley Beedle and Craig Smith among others, Ziggy Funk returns to BBE with his debut solo album, ‘Boxer’s Fracture’.
An accomplished DJ in his own right, Ziggy makes up one half of Rhemi Music, the London production outfit currently riding high on the Soulful House scene thanks to stellar collaborations with Joey Negro, Little Louie Vega and OPOLOPO.
Currently DJing regularly both in London and further afield, producing more Rhemi material and running an eponymous label alongside partner Neil Pierce, you can expect to hear a lot more from Ziggy Funk in the future. The album will be available to order from the 05th May on the BBE music website: https://goo.gl/2dG0kX
And on Saturday 27 May, BBE invite Drum & Bass legend Dj Marky behind the decks to celebrate his second release with BBE Music, ‘Influences Vol. 2.’
Globally renowned for his vibrant, melodic sets and productions, Brazil’s DJ Marky has been playing records for over a quarter of a century, making his debut at the tender age of twelve (yes, really). In the late 90’s, Marky’s fresh energy and eclectic influences provided a much-needed tonic for the UK’s Drum & Bass scene; his sun-drenched crossover anthem ‘LK’ eventually entering the UK Top 20 in 2002. The intervening years have been spent spinning records all over the world to rapt audiences, as well as absorbing more and more wide-ranging global sounds to add to his distinctive style. Marky’s long awaited debut album finally dropped in 2015, aptly titled ‘My Heroes’, reflecting this uncommonly humble artist’s habit of constantly championing his favourite musicians and musical inspirations.
With this unselfish spirit firmly in mind, BBE Music are proud to announce the release of ‘Influences Vol. 2’, a compilation album and DJ mix showcasing a selection of Marky’s favourite music, created with a healthy disdain for genre-puritans and an emphasis on fun. Taking in traditional Brazilian music, disco, acid jazz, early house and of course a little Drum & Bass, ‘Influences’ is more of an invitation to a barbecue in the São Paulo sunshine than a chin-stroking ‘back to mine’ selection. We’ll be celebrating this powerful selection and hearing some of these influential sounds on the day.
‘Influences Vol.2’ is available for pre-order now on the BBE Music website and will be available to buy in-store on the day: https://goo.gl/uihAAX
The shop opens at 12pm on both days and music will be from 3 – 8pm.
FREE ENTRY! All ages welcome & kid friendly. Food & drink available at The Institute of Light and good vibes all day long.
