Film School: Texas Chainsaw Massacre
From the Institute of Light’s atmospheric cinema space we present Film School, where we don’t just watch movies, we learn to read them.
The first Film School of 2017 will focus on genre theory; the idea that films can be classified and understood according to type. We’ll be screening Tobe Hooper’s shocking 1974 horror: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, where a group of teenagers on the road in Texas stop off at the wrong farm and encounter a family gone awry. After the film, we’ll discuss the film in relation to the genre approach. Bring an open mind and a sturdy constitution!
