Third Tuesdays at IOL: Victoria
Third Tuesdays Club @ The Institute of Light
The Third Tuesdays Club is a film-gathering happening once a month to explore the art filmmaking and the different languages that come together in creating powerful and transporting films. Each session will focus on one specific trade in the many departments – camera, sound, editing and more – and the specific contribution they bring to a film production.
Join us for an evening of drinks, nibbles, an intimate conversation with industry professionals and a screening of choice, which will give you a greater appreciation of the magic of cinema.
Each ticket includes a drink, nibbles access to the screening and presentation by an industry professional.
After our first session, which focused on editing in the Oscar-winning Moonlight (dir. Barry Jenkins), we take a look at the electrifying Victoria and its cinematography on the 18th April at 7pm:
A young Spanish woman who has newly moved to Berlin finds her flirtation with a local guy turn potentially deadly as their night out with his friends reveals a dangerous secret. The film is remarkable for being shot in a single take, following the characters across the city through the night and into the morning.
The film will be preceded by a presentation from Nicholas Nazari
Nicholas is a cinematographer with a wide ranging background in still and motion photography, an MA from the London Film School and professional experience in both documentary and drama projects. Projects he has shot have been selected and awarded in festivals worldwide, including Cannes, the Toronto International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival and London Short Film Festival.
Keep an eye out for future sessions!
