DIrector: Pablo Larrain

Starring: Gael Garcia Bernal, Luis Gnecco

Running Time: 108 mins

Rating: 15

Director Pablo Larrain blends fiction with reality in an inventive and appropriately poetic vision of Pablo Neruda. Set in the late forties, we meet Neruda as a Chilean senator already famous for his poetry- a communist and a hedonist, an artist angling for revolution. Political upheaval forces him underground. As he attempts to flee the country, moving from safe-house to safe-house, he is trailed by one dedicated police officer, disdainful of the poet and his politics.
