SCIENCE FICTION THEATRE PRESENTS: THE HIDDEN
Director: Jack Sholder
Starring: Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Nouri, Claudia Christian
Running Time: 96 minutes
A series of bizarre, inexplicable robberies and murders have L.A. police detective Tom Beck (Michael Nouri) totally baffled. And it doesn’t help when mysterious FBI agent Lloyd Gallagher (Kyle MacLachlan) tells him that a demonic extraterrestrial creature is invading the bodies of innocent victims – and transforming them into inhuman killers with an unearthly fondness for heavy-metal music, red Ferraris and unspeakable violence…
“Powered by a driving rock score, this is by turns sleek, reckless, and smoothly effective, like a Ferrari with a psycho killer at the wheel”
The film will be introduced by author and critic Tom Huddleston, who will examine where the film sits in the esteemed canon of inventive, offbeat 80s genre cinema. He will also explore the career of maverick director Jack Sholder, not to mention the prophetic typecasting of Kyle MacLachlan as an oddball FBI agent two years before the release of Twin Peaks.
Science Fiction Theatre is a monthly film club dedicated to classic sci-fi.
