THE PEOPLE’S FILM CLUB PRESENTS: HALF WAY + PANEL DISCUSSION
Director: Daisy-May Hudson
***The People’s Film Club are back for this month’s screening and panel discussion. We think it’s a corker and so will you!***
This month, join us for a screening of Half Way, a moving portrait of the UK housing crisis, told through the experience of one family. Filmed over a year, Daisy-May Hudson (BAFTA Breakthrough Brit) is both director and daughter as her and her family fight to retain their dignity whilst they wait to be rehoused by the council.
Half Way is nominated for Best British Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards and the Grierson award for Best Cinema Documentary.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring the film’s director, Daisy-May Hudson, as well as a speaker from the Streets Kitchen organisation.
All proceeds will go to Streets Kitchen, a grassroots organisation offering information that benefits our streets: food runs, benefit advice, services, housing advice, news etc. They also run several outreaches and food kitchens for the homeless community.
The People’s Film Club exists to unite powerful film with speakers who understand it best, with all proceeds going to charities and grassroots organisations.
